2010 CNN Hero of the Year

Of the top 10 CNN hero nominees, the public named, Anuradha Koirala of Maiti Nepal, as CNN Hero of the Year (2010). Her organization has rescued over 12,000 girls from slavery since 1993. Maiti Nepal is a sanctuary and a home for young girls and women who were sold into the sex trade and in brothels near the India-Nepal border.
